A ristra or Wreath treated to protect against natural elements and to add beauty. Not edible, decoration only.
Chile that has been tied on a string and hangs vertically.
Chile that has been tied on a hoop to form a circle, often called a Corona.
A small string of Piquin chile made to hang vertical and flat against the wall.
This Chile is 4-8 inches long, dries to a deep burgundy in color. For edible ristras, this chile is hot.
Light yellow in color. Shredded to take the appearance of raffia and then tied to the top of a ristra or wreath for decoration, this lends a great southwestern look.
This is 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inches long. For edible ristras and wreaths, this chile is VERY hot.
What Our Customers Say
Our dedicated customers have been coming back for fresh chile every year! Don't believe us? Look what our customers are saying.
The chile was waiting on my doorstep when I got home from work last night Jo. Thanks for getting it here so fast.
Thank you Jo. I am so excited about getting the real thing again (I lived in NM for 20 years) these Texans have great BBQ but do not understand "red or green" thus do not appreciate the flavor only heat. I also look forward to the recipes.
Just received the Red, it is fantastic! I'm giving your info to the Whole Foods produce buyers!
The chile came last week, Jo - it is delicious! Thank you so much!
I got my package. Thank you for your fast delivery. I posted your website on my Facebook page and told everyone I know about you. I am really pleased with your service and love your chile.
Bought chili from a neighboring stand in Hatch because hubby was too impatient to wait in your line. We've suffered with it all winter!!! Yuk!!! Hope he learned up his lesson. Only YOU have the true Big Jim!!
The peppers this year are amazing. I don't know how to describe the aroma of the mild ones when they roast, it's almost like white blossoms, it's so fragrant and sweet, I love it. I'm not sure why I thought 50# was a good idea, but I got through them all and they are safely tucked away in the freezer now. :-) As always, thanks so much and have a great rest of the year. We're winegrowers, so I totally respect the labor of love when it comes to farming, it's not for the faint of heart, especially for us right now in the drought... Be well and I look forward to next years crop!
